Ukrainian Drones Pour Fire On The Rear Of Russian Troops

The Russian rear can no longer be considered a safe zone.
Ukrainian forces of unmanned systems are stepping up attacks on Russian military infrastructure deep in the frontline, seeking to disrupt logistics and slow down the advance of the Russian army. This was reported by Reuters citing Ukrainian military officials and analysts (translated by Charter97.org).
One of Ukraine's elite Unmanned Systems Forces said that Russia's field bases, ammunition depots and air defense systems are becoming the main targets. Ukrainian "Drakosha" drones, capable of hitting targets at a distance of 30 to 180 kilometers from the front line, are used for launches.
The commander of the unit with the call sign "Kit" said that the drones can attack targets both in the occupied territories of Ukraine and inside Russia. Preparations for the launch take place right in the fields: fighters assemble drones from containers, program targets via laptops and send the devices into the air using special catapults.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said earlier that the intensity of such strikes has quadrupled since February. Ukrainian authorities believe such operations help to deter the Russian offensive.
Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov said an additional 5 billion hryvnias had been allocated to develop the most effective UAV strike units. According to him, the Russian rear can no longer be considered a safe zone.
Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War note that the strikes complicate the transfer of Russian equipment and personnel, including along key supply routes near Mariupol and Crimea.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military recognizes that the technological advantage on the front is constantly changing. According to the "Kit" commander, each new development quickly faces retaliation from Russia, which has extensive experience in air defense and electronic warfare.
