Ukraine Receives New IRIS-T Launcher From Germany

Germany has handed over another IRIS-T surface-to-air missile launcher to Ukraine.

"Yesterday we received a new IRIS-T launcher. Thank you Germany for your constant contribution to the defense of people. Thousands and thousands of lives have been saved thanks to such strong support. But we also need missiles for air defense systems to be able to repel Russian attacks," Zielenski said.

And he recalled that this week there are also significant agreements with Sweden - a new package of support, in particular for strengthening the aviation with combat aircraft Gripen.

In addition, this year there are new contributions to the PURL program.

"And support for this initiative must continue. We are counting on both the U.S. and European partners. It is the anti-ballistic defense that is one of the key priorities for Ukraine," the president stressed.

He said that strong air defense can give more protection to Ukrainians and deprive Russia of its last advantage.
