For Russian aviation, these are not just losses.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces' strike on the aircraft repair plant in Russia's Taganrog, Rostov Region, resulted in the loss of two Tu-142 aircraft to the enemy. This was said on the air of Radio NV by former Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko.

"Destroying any aircraft on the ground, on airfields, is easier and more effective in terms of cost and preparation," he said.

He said that in such a situation, intelligence and the availability of means capable of reaching such targets are very important.

"As for Taganrog, the relevant plant, it produced and serviced Russian amphibious aircraft, the A-50s that were damaged were repaired there. Now these two Tu-142s have been destroyed, which, most likely, have already been used as donors for other aircraft," Romanenko emphasized.

According to him, the military enterprises of Taganrog have recently been in the crosshairs of Ukraine's means of defeat, and therefore these are good results for us.
