Norway Sensationally Wins Bronze At The World Hockey Championship

The Scandinavians beat the Canadians.

In the bronze medal match of the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Switzerland, the Norwegian team sensationally defeated Canada 3-2 in overtime.

The Canadian team was considered the clear favorite, but the Norwegians were able to impose the fight and achieve a historic result.

The score in the match was opened in the first period - Mathias Emilio Pettersen gave Norway the lead. In the second twenty minutes, Stian Solberg doubled the Scandinavians' lead.

At the end of the third period, the Canadians managed to get back into the game: Robert Thomas first cut the deficit, and eight seconds before the siren, he scored his second goal, tying the score.

In overtime, however, Norway won the game with a precise shot by Noah Wall.
