Romanian President Nicusor Dan said on social network X that a technical investigation has established that the drone that hit a residential house in the city of Galati on the night of May 29 is a Russian drone of the Geranium-2 type.

According to the head of state, the wreckage was analyzed by Romanian state experts, who came to an unambiguous conclusion about the origin of the apparatus.

The found fragments contained the Cyrillic inscription "Geran-2". In addition, experts noted that electronic components, navigation systems, control modules, engine and other design elements correspond or are very close to those previously found on similar drones identified as made in Russia.

Also, as noted, physical and chemical tests confirmed the use of materials and fuels characteristic of the drones in this series.

"The investigation has unequivocally concluded that the wreckage found in Galati belongs to a Russian-made Geran-2 drone," Nicusor Dan said.

The Romanian president emphasized that the incident of a drone hitting a residential building, which resulted in human casualties and material damage, is a serious incident.
