70-year-old former Chernobyl accident liquidator Vladimir Telepun is accused of promoting "extremism" and "insulting" Lukashenka, writes Homelskaya Viasna.
The Human Rights Center "Viasna" reported earlier that he was taken into custody in early April. It is assumed that at first he was kept in the temporary detention center of Mozyr District Department of Internal Affairs, after which he was transferred to SIZO-3.
The Belarusian is known for his work in defense of human rights, including the right to peaceful assembly. In 1986, he participated in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident. Human rights activists note that he has health problems.
