At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry is threatening a massive strike on the center of Kiev.
Russia's Defense Ministry said that a ceasefire with Ukraine is declared for May 8-9 in honor of the Soviet people's victory in World War II, following a decision by dictator Vladimir Putin. "We count on the Ukrainian side to follow suit," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Today, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky admitted that the country's army could attack the Victory Parade on Red Square with the help of drones. In this regard, the Russian Defense Ministry said that "all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety of the festivities."
If Ukraine's army tries to "implement its criminal plans," Russia's armed forces "will launch a retaliatory, massive missile strike on the center of Kiev," the Defense Ministry said. "Russia, despite the opportunities available to us, has previously refrained from such actions for humanitarian reasons," the ministry noted.
"We warn the civilian population of Kiev and employees of foreign diplomatic missions to leave the city in a timely manner," the Russian Defense Ministry added.
