The occupiers were afraid of Ukrainian strikes.

Russian occupiers in Crimea have decided not to hold a military parade and other mass events on May 9.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of the so-called "head of Crimea" Sergey Aksyonov.

"There are no plans to hold a military parade and other mass events in honor of the Great Victory Day in the Republic of Crimea this year. There will also be no organized procession of the Immortal Regiment," he said.

Aksyonov explained that such a decision of the so-called "authorities" was dictated by "security considerations."

We will recall that in late April, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin held a conversation with US President Donald Trump, in which he said he was ready to establish a truce with Ukraine on "victory day."

In response, Ukraine said that Moscow thus wants to secure its military parade, which is scheduled for May 9.
