The U.S. Congress said there was broad support for Ukraine in Washington.
The administration of US President Donald Trump "does not express" the opinion of all Americans about Ukraine, and many in Congress continue to support Kiev. This was stated in an interview with Kyiv Independent by member of the House of Representatives Mike Levin.
He noted that most members of the US House of Representatives support Ukraine, which is not the case with the Senate. He also condemned the position of US Vice President J.D. Vance, who said that stopping direct US arms deliveries to Kiev is one of the main achievements of the current US administration.
"The Vice President does not speak for all Americans. Congress has a broad ideological spectrum. <...> My message to Ukrainians is this: this administration does not express the opinion of every American," he noted.
Levin also emphasized that US President Donald Trump's beliefs "contradict much of what has made America a strong leader of the world over the past 80 years."
