Ukrainian military officer on the aftermath of the strike on the Kalibrov carrier in Kaspiysk.
On May 7, the Ukrainian Defense Forces supplied a multipurpose small missile ship of the Karakurt project near the Kaspiysk basing point in Dagestan. It is capable of launching Kalibr cruise missiles. The Caspian Sea is a large logistical base for the enemy, and Russia's military presence remains there.
An airing of "Channel 24" noted a serviceman of the Armed Forces' TrO Force Alexander Musienko, explaining that Russia is trying to cover its military facilities. A significant number of military units and bases that are involved in the war against Ukraine are now concentrated in southern Russia.
An enemy missile launcher is among the facilities that are located in southern Russia. However, according to the serviceman, the number of Kalibras launched from the Caspian Sea at Ukraine is now insignificant, mostly Russians fired from the Black Sea.
"We see a new interesting trend. When missile defense systems strike oil industry facilities and Russia's military economy, as they did in Novorossiysk, the accompanying targets of such attacks include ships. The enemy's ship grouping, the so-called Caspian flotilla, is decreasing," Musienko stated.
The AFU soldier added that the Caspian Sea is becoming more and more reachable for Ukrainian means of destruction. It used to hit oil platforms, and now the Ukrainian Defense Forces are also reaching the enemy's missile carriers.
"This is a decrease in threats for us, because we understand that if the enemy even once used his missile carriers, launched Kalibras from the Caspian Sea, then he can do it again. Now he has these capabilities are decreasing," Musienko emphasized.
To summarize, he noted that the JMAs are carrying out systematic work, which is aimed at not just responding to threats from the air by shooting down Russia's means of defeat, but also striking at their launch sites, reducing the enemy's strike capabilities.
