For the first time, North Koreans were brought to Red Square instead of technicians.

North Korea's military took part in the parade held on Moscow's Red Square on May 9 for the first time. They marched in a separate column. This is reported by Astra.

"On Red Square, the parade formation of the Korean People's Army under the command of Senior Colonel Chae Yun Un. The soldiers of the Korean People's Army, side by side with Russian servicemen, made a significant contribution to the liberation of the Kursk region from 'neo-Nazi invaders', showing mass heroism, selflessness and bravery," said the announcer commenting on the parade."

As The Moscow Times noted, this year's parade in Moscow lasted only 45 minutes and was one of the shortest in history.

"It was almost half as long as the 2025 anniversary parade, which lasted about 1.5 hours. In 2024, the parade lasted just over 50 minutes: the broadcast began at 10:00 Moscow time and ended around 10:52. Only in 2023 the parade was comparable to the current one: it lasted about 47 minutes," the publication writes.

It should be noted that the march of troops through Red Square itself lasted about 10 minutes - along with the North Koreans.

In addition, as noted, for the first time in 19 years, the parade in Moscow was held without military equipment.

"The demonstration of weapons in the parade broadcast was replaced by video footage: the audience was shown a video with a demonstration of drones and nuclear weapons. It showed "samples of the latest Russian equipment," in particular drones, as well as the Arkhangelsk and Prince Vladimir nuclear submarines," the report said."
