One of the leaders of the Russian opposition, world chess champion Garry Kasparov is sure that after the war in Ukraine is over, Russia will begin to disintegrate, and the first region to secede from Russia will probably be the North Caucasus.

The politician voiced this viewpoint on the air of "Channel 24".

In addition, Kasparov pointed to China's territorial interests in Russia. According to the politician, Beijing has already set its sights on the Russian Far East and Eastern Siberia, lands that belonged to China until 1860.

"The main question of economic survival (for Russia - ed.) is related to whether China will take the Far East and Eastern Siberia," Kasparov added.

Commenting on the war between Ukraine and Russia, he noted that Kiev is now striking at the infrastructure that fuels Putin's regime. Oil, logistics and industry provide wealth for the Kremlin elite. Putin cannot burn their money forever for a war that will not bring victory.

Kasparov also touched on Europe's support for Ukraine. The politician believes that many Western European leaders are still too cautious in reacting to the scale of the threat.
