ISW: Z-propaganda Panics Over AFU Strikes On Logistics

  • 1.06.2026, 8:12

Russians from Lugansk to Crimea are in trouble.

Ukraine's campaign of medium-range strikes against Russian ground lines of communication is disrupting Russian logistics across the entire territory of military operations, from the occupied territory of the Luhansk region to Crimea.

This is according to a report by analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).org/research/russia-ukraine/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-may-31-2026/">a report by analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) for May 31.

On that day, the Third Army Corps reported that Ukrainian forces had secured drone fire control over Luhansk, Starobelsk, Alchevsk, Bryanka and Kadievka. All these settlements are located at a distance of about 50 to 90 kilometers from the front line. Ukraine's Third Army Corps said that Ukrainian forces regularly strike Russian logistics facilities, armored vehicles and ammunition depots in the area, and recently reached the Izvarino checkpoint on the international border, which is more than 205 kilometers away from the positions of Ukrainian drone operators.

According to ISW analysts, the Ukrainian military has significantly stepped up strikes on Russian warehouses, bases and supply routes in recent months. This creates problems for the Russian army's supply, affects the situation on the frontline, and slows the advance of Russian troops.

On May 31, Russian "war correspondents" confirmed that Ukrainian strikes are creating logistical problems for Russian troops throughout the battlefield. One of them stated that Ukrainian drones are now breaking through Russian air defenses throughout the occupied Luhansk region and reaching the border with Rostov region. Another Russian "war correspondent" complained that Ukrainian medium-range strikes are significantly disrupting Russian logistics not only along the land corridor connecting the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions to Crimea, but also throughout the occupied territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

"Voenkor" stated that these strikes caused a significant shortage of fuel and seriously complicated the rotation of Russian personnel and ammunition supplies in the Donbass territories.

On May 27, Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov announced the Logistical Lockdown program. The Defense Ministry, together with the General Staff, allocated 5 billion hryvnias for the purchase of means to strike Russian logistics at operational depth - so-called middle strike.
