AFU "cut" Crimea

The occupiers will go for a "goodwill gesture".

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have begun to strike Russian logistics to a depth of up to 200 kilometers, which significantly affects the situation on the front. At the same time, as noted by veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, former company commander of the Aidar battalion and director of the National Antarctic Research Center Evgeny Dikiy, this also has a strategic impact, especially in the southern direction.

He said that the expansion of the affected area to 200 kilometers effectively allows Crimea to be "cut off" from the mainland.

He also noted that part of the ferry crossing in the Kerch Strait is out of service, further limiting alternative supply routes. As a result, he assessed, the Azov land corridor remains one of the key supply routes for occupied Crimea.

"It turned out that with this blocking of the midstrike zone, this 200-kilometer strike zone, we are thus cutting Crimea off from the mainland. This is what we could not achieve at the previous stage of the war," Wild said on Radio NV.

He recalled that previously there were no such opportunities, as the range of artillery was limited to about 40 kilometers, and the Russian side took advantage of this by developing land infrastructure, including rail and road routes along the Sea of Azov.

Dikiy emphasized that it is the land connection that is key for Crimea, as the Crimean bridge, even functioning, has limited capacity and remains vulnerable to strikes. According to him, after the Ukrainian attacks, its capabilities have been significantly reduced, especially in terms of fuel transportation.

He also noted that part of the ferry crossing in the Kerch Strait is out of service, which further limits alternative supply routes. As a result, he assessed that the Azov land corridor remains one of the key supply routes for occupied Crimea.
