Tehran suspended the talks because of the fighting in Lebanon.
Iran has announced the suspension of talks with the US due to activation of hostilities in Lebanon, according to Tasnim News.
It is noted that Iran's Armed Forces and all factions of the Resistance Front (an informal alliance of Iran and the political and military organizations it supports in the Middle East) are "determined to respond to the crimes of the Zionists and open new fronts."
According to Tasnim, given the "continuation of Israeli crimes" in Lebanon, and given that Lebanon was one of the prerequisites for the truce - which is now broken on all fronts - the Iranian negotiating team is "suspending dialog and messaging through mediators."
Iranian officials and negotiators emphasized the immediate cessation of the "aggressive and barbaric operations of the Israeli regime's army" in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the need for a complete withdrawal from Lebanon's occupied territories.
They said that as long as the position of Iran and the Resistance Front on this issue is not consolidated, no further negotiations will take place.
In addition, the Resistance Front and Iran put on their agenda the complete blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and the activation of other fronts, particularly the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.
