“Today at 5:15 p.m. Eastern Time, U.S. Central Command forces launched additional strikes in self-defense against several targets in Iran at the direction of the Commander-in-Chief,” the command said in a statement.

They added that the strikes are a response to "Iran’s unjustified and ongoing aggression."
