The Chongar Bridge has sustained critical damage.

The Chongar Bridge in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region sustained critical damage during Ukrainian drone attacks on June 7 and 9. It is now completely impassable to traffic.

This was reported by the commander of the First Separate Assault Regiment named after Dmytro Kotsyubailo Dmytro “Perun” Filatov on the air "Suspilne Studio".

According to him, the Chongar Bridge sustained damage so severe that it is critical to its structural integrity.

Currently, neither freight nor passenger vehicles are using it, and the bridge itself requires comprehensive restoration work.

Filatov noted that the occupiers are currently setting up pontoon crossings nearby, have changed their logistics, and have begun moving through Armiansk. However, Ukrainian troops are fully in control of the situation.

As a reminder, on the night of June 11, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) struck four bridges connecting the Kherson region with Crimea.

“According to preliminary information, there is damage. Experts are conducting an inspection and assessing the condition of the structures,” said Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-appointed “governor” of the occupied Kherson region. He specified that the strikes targeted the crossing over the North Crimean Canal near Preobrazhenka and Mirny, the road bridge on the Perekop–Armiansk route, and the bridge near the village of Stavki.
