The figure was announced by the commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces.
Over the past year, Ukraine’s unmanned systems forces have inflicted about a third of the losses on Russian troops. This was revealed by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Madyar Brovdy in an interview Reuters.
According to him, in the first five months of 2026, drones killed more than 50,900 Russian soldiers and struck more than 176,500 enemy targets. He added that the average daily kill rate is 337 Russian soldiers and 1,169 enemy targets.
The average cost of eliminating one Russian occupier over the course of a year was approximately $918, the SBS commander stated.
In addition, Brovdy announced plans to increase the number of drone units to 5% of the total strength of the Ukrainian army.
“By expanding the use of unmanned aerial vehicles—not only in drone units, but throughout the entire army—we are significantly increasing the number of targets destroyed,” Madyar emphasized.
