Thick black smoke rose above the city.

Early in the morning on June 12, drones reached Russia’s Samara Region and attacked the Togliattikauchuk chemical plant.

After a series of explosions in the city of Togliatti, where the plant is located, thick black smoke rose: a fire broke out on the plant’s grounds. This was reported by OSINT channels.

“Defense forces struck the Togliattikauchuk chemical plant in the Samara Region using attack UAVs. There is a fire at the facility,” analysts write.

In footage circulating online, the sounds of explosions can be heard, as well as drones flying in the sky above the city.

As of 5:20 a.m., the attack on Togliatti was ongoing. Russian air defense and electronic warfare forces were actively operating in the city.

Analysts suggest that the attack may have been carried out using FP-1 drones manufactured by Fire Point. However, the Ukrainian military has not yet confirmed this information.

What is known about the Togliattikauchuk plant

"Tolyattikauchuk" is a petrochemical plant in the Russian city of Tolyatti, Samara Oblast, that produces synthetic rubber and chemical components used in the manufacture of tires and rubber products.

The plant is considered one of the largest in the region. Data from open sources indicate that the plant produces four grades of rubber, hydrocarbon fractions, organic synthesis products, and gasoline additives.

As a reminder, also last night drones attacked occupied Simferopol: after the strikes, power outages began, and online reports mention damage to the Simferopol Thermal Power Plant.
