U.S. President Donald Trump claims that the United States has ended the war with Iran. According to him, Tehran has agreed never to possess nuclear weapons.

“I don’t know if you’ve heard, but today we ended the war with Iran. And they agreed never to possess nuclear weapons,” Trump said.

As CNN notes, there has been no official confirmation of such an agreement from Tehran yet.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai told state media that the country has not yet made a final decision regarding any agreement with the U.S.

According to him, reports of an agreement being reached are “mere speculation.”

For his part, a spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament Ebrahim Rezaei cast doubt on the U.S. president’s statements.


“The likelihood of deception on Trump’s part is high,” he wrote on social media platform X.

According to the politician, the White House chief may be attempting to temporarily maintain calm while simultaneously urging Iran not to cease its attacks.
