(updated) Trump announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States and Iran have reached peace agreement and agreed to an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon.

This was announced by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on social media platform X.

According to him, the official signing of the agreement is scheduled for June 19 in Switzerland. Prior to that, mediators must hold a series of meetings to prepare for technical negotiations and the signing ceremony.

Sharif noted that Pakistan continues to work with both sides to finalize the next steps in the peace process.

In turn, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the agreements with Iran have been finalized.

“The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is done. Congratulations to everyone!” Trump wrote.

He also announced the “duty-free opening” of the Strait of Hormuz and the immediate end of the U.S. naval blockade in the region.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, as reported by Deutsche Welle, confirmed the signing of agreements with the U.S. According to him, the parties will sign a “memorandum of understanding.”

According to Garibabadi, negotiations to reach a final peace agreement will then take place over the next 60 days, and during this time Iran will monitor the implementation of the memorandum’s provisions, “keeping its finger on the trigger”.

Meanwhile, the Iranian news agency Mehr has published another version of the proposed memorandum. Overall, it is very similar to the one the agency published last week. The memorandum includes a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, the opening of the Strait, the lifting of sanctions against Iran, and subsequent negotiations on the nuclear program.
