Ukraine has made progress in the Donbas.

Ukrainian forces have likely made further gains in the Donetsk region. According to an assessment by the U.S. Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian Defense Forces have advanced in the Ternove area and may have liberated two settlements.

ISW analysts, citing the geolocation of video footage, report that Ukrainian units have advanced along a strip of territory to the northeast and east of Ternove. According to experts, this indicates the likely liberation of the villages of Novogeorgievka and Berezovoye.

In addition, Ukrainian forces managed to dislodge Russian units from part of the village of Novogrigorovka, located to the south.

According to ISW, one Russian military blogger stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting counteroffensive operations in the area and have pushed Russian forces back five to eight kilometers near several settlements.

Another Russian blogger expressed concern that Ukrainian troops may soon retake control of the occupied village of Komar, located northeast of Ternove.

ISW also reports on the advance of Ukrainian forces east of Dobropillya, near Hulyaypole. However, the situation in this area remains complex. Geolocation of the footage indicates that some Russian groups managed to penetrate Ukrainian positions and establish a foothold in the areas of Kosovtsevo and Vozdvizhkovka. Analysts note that fighting on this section of the front continues.

ISW emphasizes that information on the course of hostilities is based on analysis of open sources, specifically video geolocation and satellite data. Most statements by the parties to the conflict cannot be independently verified in real time.
