The commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdy, call sign “Magyar”, stated that Ukraine will respond to the Russian strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, but this will not be an emotional reaction, rather part of an already active retaliation system.

In his Facebook post, he emphasized that residents of Russia will feel the consequences of the war throughout the country. According to Brovdi, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have already launched a “retribution campaign,” striking military and strategic targets in the Russian Federation.

Against this backdrop, reports emerged on the morning of June 16 about an attack by Ukrainian drones on an oil refinery in Moscow. According to media reports, this was the first such attack on a facility of this level in the Russian capital.

On the night of June 15, Russian troops launched a massive strike on Ukrainian territory. One of the targets was Kyiv. As a result of the attack, a drone struck the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The strike hit the central part of the building’s roof, after which a fire broke out. The fire covered an area of about 800 square meters.
