Several people were detained.

On June 14, 2026, the FBI thwarted a kamikaze drone attack on the White House in Washington, D.C., during the celebration of U.S. President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday. According to FBI Director Kash Patel, several people were detained as part of the operation, and the attack was thwarted at the very beginning. “Thanks to the swift actions of the FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice as part of an interagency operation, several individuals are in custody,” Patel stated on social media platform X. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, speaking on Fox News, called the incident a coordinated terrorist plot.

According to Fox News, the case involves at least five people who have been detained, as well as up to 23 others who participated in conversations on the Signal messaging app. Investigators believe the attackers’ target was the UFC Freedom 250 event, which was attended by Trump and his wife Melania, members of his family, high-ranking officials, and celebrities—including UFC President Dana White, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, musician Kid Rock, boxer Tyson Fury, and others.

Investigators believe the plan involved using drones carrying explosives to attack buildings near the event site by the White House. According to law enforcement, the plan was to cause panic and direct people into a specific area where a group of gunmen could be waiting for them. This could have been followed by a second wave of attacks on the White House. According to Fox News sources, one of the suspects told investigators that the attack was aimed at the capitalist elite, billionaires, and politicians who had received donations from the Israeli lobbying organization AIPAC. According to sources, the investigation is ongoing.

The UFC Freedom 250 event took place without incident and became the first-ever professional mixed martial arts competition held near the White House. About 4,300 guests attended the event, while up to 85,000 people watched from outside the perimeter.
