The “Bars” drone missile was first mentioned in 2024 by the Minister of Strategic Industries German Smetanin. While listing the weapons of this class—which was still new at the time—he also mentioned the “Bars.” This is a privately developed project. It is known that its range is approximately 700–800 km, and its wingspan is about 2 meters. The warhead’s mass is estimated at 50–100 kg.

It should be noted that the “drone missile” category may have been chosen due to bureaucratic considerations, specifically to expedite the system’s adoption into service.
