Did the Russian intelligence services stage a provocation?

The Security Service of Ukraine stated that it had intercepted an official Russian document denying Ukraine’s involvement in the attack on a bus carrying Belarusian citizens in the Bryansk region.

The document in question is an information report from the monitoring center of the Bryansk Region State Institution “Safe Region.” According to the SBU, this document was obtained during counterintelligence operations.

The report states that at the time of the incident involving the bus, there were no Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the airspace of the region.

In particular, the intercepted report notes that:

— the so-called “Regional Segment of the Operational Headquarters of the Unified National Center” did not detect any UAVs in the area of the incident;

— the presence of drones in the airspace was also not confirmed by the duty officer of the radar battalion in the Russian settlement of Suponevo;

— Furthermore, the duty officer of the 32nd Division of the occupying forces also did not confirm any drone flights during the relevant time period.

Thus, the SBU believes there are grounds to suspect that the attack on the bus carrying Belarusian citizens in the Bryansk region may have been a special operation carried out by Russian special services.
