Lithuanian Foreign Minister: Any Calls To Resume Dialog With Russia Ignore Reality

  • 2.06.2026, 15:41

Putin is being defeated on the battlefield.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kiastutis Budrys said on social network X that Russia was stepping up attacks on civilians because of failures on the battlefield and called for increased support for Ukraine. He said that after a week of targeted intimidation, Russia has fired hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles.

"This latest wave of terror is yet another reminder that the Kremlin continues to rely on attacks on civilians as it fails on the battlefield," he said.

Budris also emphasized that any calls for renewed dialogue with Russia and Belarus ignore reality as those states continue to wage aggressive war and terror against civilians.

The Lithuanian foreign minister emphasized that Ukraine needs not only statements, but concrete actions: increased military aid, tougher sanctions against Russia, complete political and economic isolation of the aggressor, use of frozen Russian assets, as well as acceleration of Ukraine's European integration.

"The Kremlin should understand that every act of terror will lead to increased spending, deeper isolation and increased support for Ukraine," he concluded.
