Political Analyst: Ukraine Should Put Pressure On Lukashenko

Otherwise, 2022 could happen all over again.

We can no longer pretend that Kyiv is unaware of Lukashenko’s involvement in the aggression against Ukraine. Oleg Lisny, president of the “Politika” analytical center, shared this opinion on “Ukrinform”.

“Lukashenko is an aggressor; it wasn’t tractors but tanks that were sent from his country into Ukraine at the time,” he said. “And now, for example, there are relay stations—whether he has shut them down or will shut them down in the future is a matter of time and stability.” In other words, as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, we need action.

So here’s another development, by the way: they’ve taken first place in fuel supplies to the Russian Federation. So, who are they supplying? Combine operators? No. Tank crews? Someone else? That’s why this requirement is also in place.
And based on the data we’re seeing—based on the opposition’s data—it’s clear that preparations for an invasion are underway. Given that Ukraine has had a very negative experience—when it saw what appeared to be Russian students near its borders and then drew the false conclusion that they wouldn’t attack, that it was illogical, that there weren’t enough of them—but they did attack. Therefore, of course, Ukraine must respond to any warnings, and it is responding.

“Madyar” clearly explained that it wouldn’t take him long for Belarus to become, if not a void, then at least a hopeless state for Lukashenko and his regime. That is why we are responding to the military plan—that is, the military is stationed at those locations, laying mines, digging trenches, doing whatever it takes—because we treat every threat appropriately and prepare for it.

But the key “but” here is who Lukashenko is at this stage. He is a man who wants to survive. I believe that Ukraine must apply pressure—and I mean pressure—because pretending that we don’t know or haven’t seen something has gone on long enough. Again, let me repeat: this isn’t 2022. Ukraine isn’t what it was back then. It trusts no one; it’s fighting for survival. And an organism fighting for survival is very dangerous, because it has a black-and-white view of the world: it’s either death or life.”
