A propagandist reported massive losses.

Russian writer and pro-war advocate Zakhar Prilepin stated in an interview with Russian media that Russian troops are facing serious problems Russian troops are facing on the front lines in Ukraine. Journalist Denis Kazansky drew attention to his remarks, analyzing them on his YouTube channel.

According to Prilepin, Russian units are suffering significant losses due to the active use of Ukrainian drones. He noted that military equipment is regularly coming under attack, and movement along many routes has become extremely risky.

“Literally over the last month and a half, even the most familiar roads—for example, the Luhansk–Donetsk route via Horlivka and a number of other roads that were always more or less safe—are now littered with burned-out vehicles,” he said.

Prilepin also reported that in his unit, “nearly one in three has been killed or wounded.” According to him, due to heavy casualties and the threat of drone attacks, drivers are increasingly refusing to make trips to the occupied territories.

In addition, he acknowledged that the Russian army has not achieved the objectives set at the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Prilepin noted that Moscow had counted on a quick military campaign, but those expectations were not met.

“We had a week; we had a week and a half, just as we had expected. And that was it. And then things turned out the way they did. At this stage, the Russia we have built cannot win this war,” he said.
