Andrei Sibiga called on the world to monitor the “mobilization drills” in Belarus.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called on the international community to remain vigilant amid “mobilization drills” in the Grodno Region of Belarus.
He wrote about this on social media platform X.
“From June 20 to July 2, the Oshmyany District Military Commissariat is notifying approximately 2,000 conscripts and setting up preliminary assembly points. Although these measures are officially classified as a routine data check, they serve as a tactic to intimidate neighboring states,” Sibiga stated.
He emphasized that the Belarusian leadership is showing no intention of de-escalating the situation but, on the contrary, is strengthening its military presence near the borders of Ukraine and NATO countries.
“This strategy aligns with the interests of the Kremlin, which is using political blackmail—a move that directly contradicts the Belarusian leadership’s public statements about peace,” the minister said.
The foreign minister added that Ukraine continues to closely monitor Belarus’s actions, reiterates its warnings to Minsk regarding its deepening involvement in Russian aggression, and calls on the international community to increase pressure on the Lukashenko regime.
