The occupiers are in a panic.
In Crimea, amid fuel shortages and power outages, rumors have begun to spread that local officials are allegedly evacuating families from the peninsula to Russia, according to Gauleiter Oleg Kryuchkov, as noted by The Moscow Times.
According to him, Crimean chat rooms are flooded with posts urging people to leave the peninsula immediately. “They say, ‘Officials have taken their families out; you need to leave…’ You’ll be waiting a long time! Crimeans understand everything perfectly well; they’ve been through this since 2014. Energy, water, transportation… we’ve seen every kind of blockade!”—wrote Kryuchkov on his Telegram channel.
He urged Crimeans to delete and block users in their family and other chat groups who claim to be the “daughter of an officer,” the “brother of a soldier on the front lines,” or the “wife of a security officer,” and recommended trusting only official information.
On Friday, June 26, in Crimea and Sevastopol a state of emergency was declared. According to the Russian-appointed Gauleiter of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, the decision will allow for the prompt resolution of issues related to ensuring the population’s basic needs. The state of emergency took effect at 1:00 p.m. Minsk time and will remain in effect until the situation improves. Under this regime, authorities are granted the right to restrict the movement of citizens, suspend business operations, and carry out forced evacuations.
