The dialogue between the dictators may continue on June 27.
The dictators of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko have concluded their talks; the dialogue may resume on June 27. This was announced by the Russian leader’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov.
“They may meet on Saturday as well, if <...> they deem it necessary,” he said (quoted by RIA Novosti).
The talks took place at Putin’s residence in Valdai.
Lukashenko stated the day before that he had held a meeting with representatives of his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to him, the parties confirmed that Minsk must not be drawn into the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Lukashenko made this statement during a meeting with the governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov, as well as the Russian ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov.
The Belarusian leader, also addressing Ambassador Gryzlov at that meeting, stated that Minsk should not be pushed into a conflict with Ukraine.
