Ukraine Unveils Its First Extra-Large Underwater Drone

  • 27.06.2026, 10:46

The Sea Trident ST-1000 is capable of traveling up to 3,700 km and carrying a one-metric-ton payload.

The Ukrainian company Global Mark unveiled its first ultra-large unmanned underwater vehicle, the Sea Trident ST-1000. The new model was showcased at the Eurosatory 2026 international defense exhibition in Paris, according to Naval News.

Previously, Global Mark was known primarily for its drones and electronic warfare systems, but the company has now unveiled its own development for underwater operations.

The Sea Trident ST-1000 is an autonomous underwater drone designed to carry out long-range missions. According to the developer, the vehicle is capable of delivering up to 1,000 kg of payload to strategic targets.

The system is designed for asymmetric maritime operations, where stealth and autonomy play a key role. The UUV can operate underwater at shallow depths, making it difficult to detect, and is transported in a standard ISO container, allowing for rapid transport by road.

The developers note that the Sea Trident ST-1000 is a multi-purpose platform. It can be used for:
strike operations in the form of a kamikaze drone;
delivering cargo and ammunition;
intercepting and destroying other unmanned aerial vehicles;
launching FPV drones.

What is known about its specifications

The new Ukrainian unmanned underwater vehicle is 10 meters long, 2 meters wide, and weighs about 10 metric tons.

Its stated range is 2,000 nautical miles (approximately 3,700 km), its cruising speed is 11 km/h, and its maximum speed is about 18.5 km/h. Its operational diving depth reaches 60 meters.

One of the Sea Trident ST-1000’s key features is its ability to carry a warhead or other payload weighing up to 1,000 kg, making it one of the most powerful Ukrainian unmanned maritime platforms ever publicly unveiled.
