Trump promised Iran "total destruction."
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that its naval and air forces launched ballistic missiles and drones at the U.S. Army’s Ali al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait. Trump has already warned Tehran of the “inevitable destruction” of the country.
This was reported by Middle East Eye and Anadolu, citing Trump’s post on Truth Social.
In addition to the airbase in Kuwait, the IRGC claims to have carried out strikes against the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Port Salman in Bahrain’s capital, Manama. However, there has been no official confirmation yet.
The statement says the attacks were in response to a U.S. strike on five coastal targets in Iran.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti military says the country’s air defense system is responding to “hostile missile and drone threats.” The military urged the public to follow safety guidelines.
U.S. President Donald Trump urgently posted an angry message on his social media platform, Truth Social. In it, the president threatened to use military force against Iran.
“There may come a time when we can no longer be reasonable and will be forced to use military means to finish the job we have so successfully started. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will cease to exist,” Trump said.
