Conflicts have broken out at gas stations.
Authorities in Russia's Irkutsk Region have stepped up security measures amid a fuel shortage and long lines at gas stations. The region’s governor Igor Kobzev announced that police officers and Rosgvardia personnel have been deployed to patrol gas stations.
According to the regional governor, law enforcement officers are tasked with maintaining public order near gas stations, cracking down on the illegal sale of fuel, and holding violators accountable.
Due to a gasoline shortage in the region, a state of heightened readiness has been declared. At Rosneft gas stations, a limit has been set for individual customers—no more than 50 liters of fuel per vehicle per day. In addition, the sale of gasoline in jerry cans and other containers is prohibited.
Exceptions have been made only for emergency vehicles, municipal vehicles, and agricultural enterprises.
The fuel shortage in Russian regions arose amid disruptions in the oil refining industry following attacks by Ukrainian drones.
