The consequences of the attack appear to be extremely serious.

Following Ukraine’s nighttime attack on the Slavyansk Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai, the Russian Telegram channel “Svarishki” stated that “The refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban no longer exists”.

The authors of the channel, which positions itself as a military analysis resource, acknowledged that the strike hit one of the key oil refineries in southern Russia, and the consequences of the attack appear to be extremely serious, writes “Dialog”.

According to the “Welders,” as many as six or seven months ago they warned the plant’s management about the need to establish multi-layered protection against FPV drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles. However, it is claimed that these recommendations were ignored.

“About 6–7 months ago, we were in talks with the Slavyansk Oil Refinery. Even though we came on the owner’s recommendation—not just off the street—we were allotted just 5 minutes to talk while some wise-guy security guard chewed on something unpleasant and drank coffee. A typical example of how everyone suffers because of one jerk. Today, the refinery in Slavyansk is no more,” the channel’s post states.

A Ukrainian drone attack caused a major fire at the Slavyansk Oil Refinery, which is a key facility for Russian petroleum product exports.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed strikes on the Slavyansk oil refinery, located approximately 300 kilometers from the front line, as well as on an oil refinery in the Yaroslavl region, which is located approximately 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
