Out Of Touch With Reality

Putin has absolutely no idea what's going on in the country.
By giving an interview to the court journalist Zarubin, he wanted to show that everything was under control—the situation in Crimea, the country’s fuel supply, and the Russian Armed Forces’ summer offensive. The result was the opposite: it became clear to everyone that the boss was being lied to. The main liar this time turned out to be Deputy Prime Minister Novak, whose “prepared remarks” were voiced during the interview.
“The country has huge fuel reserves—1.7 million metric tons.” First, these reserves would last only 10 days, given the daily consumption rates. Second, such a volume has not been in storage for a long time. Supplies are being delivered “on the fly.” It would be good if Channel One showed where in the country these reserves are located, to reassure the public. The unmanned systems forces and the SBU would be grateful to Ernst for such reports.
“Fuel will be delivered to Crimea by sea.” Tankers carrying petroleum products are ideal targets for Ukraine’s unmanned boats and UAVs, both on the open sea and in ports (the Kerch crossing has been completely destroyed, along with the ferries).
“Everything destroyed by Ukraine will be quickly restored.” Not a single one of the oil refineries hit by Ukraine in April and May has ever resumed normal operations. And the few refineries that “tried” to resume operations were immediately struck again (yesterday this happened to the Slavyansk Refinery in the Kuban region and the Yaroslavl Refinery). They won’t be repairing the plants anymore—no one will cover the owners’ costs for such a pointless restoration.
“Russia will be protected by a reliable air defense system.” In the 40 days during which Zelenskyy has promised to burn absolutely everything, it is impossible to increase the number and effectiveness of air defense systems. Missile stocks for the “Pantsir” systems are running low, and new ones are arriving in limited quantities. There is no defense against cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, which, it is claimed, could be used against Moscow in the near future—this, in the author’s opinion, was demonstrated by the precise strikes of several “Flamingo” missiles on a military plant in Volgograd. Right now, the Kremlin is begging Kim Jong-un to send at least some air defense equipment along with crews, but North Korea has no spare air defense systems, and Pyongyang will not leave its airspace unprotected during South Korea’s air defense exercises (which are taking place right now) is something Pyongyang will not do. It will send some Soviet junk and give a pat on the back.
“Arrangements have been made to purchase gasoline abroad—‘foreign countries will help us.’” India can ship 50,000 metric tons (half of Russia’s daily consumption) once every 6–8 days. The tankers will be tracked by Ukraine and destroyed in Baltic ports by dozens of drones or in Novorossiysk by several unmanned boats (as has already happened more than once in the Black Sea).
Putin’s speeches are now having the opposite effect: this old man, out of touch with reality, is instilling fear in Z-patriots instead of confidence.
