Strike On The Corvette "Boyky": Why This Ship Was Important For The Russian Federation
- 3.06.2026, 13:37
The target was not chosen at random.
The defeat of the corvette "Boyky" reduces the combat capabilities of the Russian fleet and demonstrates Ukraine's ability to hit the occupying country's military facilities even at a considerable distance.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Unmanned Systems Force on social media.
What kind of corvette
"Boyky" is a warship of the Russian Baltic Fleet, built in 2011 and accepted into the fleet since 2013. It belongs to Project 20380 and is a carrier of guided missile weapons.
The ship was used for operations near NATO borders and escorting tankers of Russia's shadow oil fleet. Since February 2026, the corvette has been under scheduled repair.
How the strike occurred
On June 3, 2026, operators from the 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Force Center struck the Boyky at the Veletschinsky Dry Dock in Kronstadt, St. Petersburg.
The distance from Ukraine to the target is about 1,100 kilometers.
Why it matters
The strike on the Boykiy weakens Russia's maritime capabilities in the Baltic. The corvette was an active combat unit that worked in the interests of the Russian navy.
The forces of unmanned systems continue to hit:
Missile weapon carriers;
Naval infrastructure facilities;
Control points;
logistics hubs.
