The video was shortened by six minutes.

An interview with dictator Vladimir Putin conducted by propagandist <>Pavel Zarubin, published on the Kremlin’s website, turned out to be heavily edited. About 6 minutes of “controversial” remarks were cut from it. This was pointed out by the independent Russian news site “We Can Explain”.

Putin’s remark about Stary Oskol—a city in the Belgorod Region of the Russian Federation—being “almost surrounded” was removed from the transcript of the interview. The media believes the dictator confused the city with a river in Ukraine. The dictator’s incorrect pronunciation of the Kherson region has also been removed. He referred to it as “Kharkhon.”

A full 6 minutes were cut from the video itself. In that segment, Zarubin asked Putin about the shift in the U.S. position on the war against Ukraine and whether the so-called “spirit of Anchorage” still existed. Putin stated twice that he knew nothing about this. He also claimed that during the Anchorage talks, Russia had allegedly made a compromise at the request of the American side and was now awaiting a new visit from representatives of Washington. These remarks were not included in the official publication.

Putin’s remarks about Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko were also removed from the final version. He claimed that threats from Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy “do not cause panic” among the Belarusian leader.
