Russia may be at war for years or even decades to come, and the world is now on the threshold of a new big confrontation. This statement was made by Rosneft advisor and former Russian Foreign Intelligence Service officer Andrey Bezrukov during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, "Glavcom" reports.

According to Bezrukov, Russian society must be prepared for a long period of conflicts.

"We must recognize that in the next few years, and possibly a couple of decades, we will be in a state of war... We will have two generations that will actually live in war conditions," he said.

He suggested that hostilities could both remain "hot" and move into a less intense phase, but not end completely.

Bezrukov also argues that the world is entering a phase of new geopolitical clashes. According to him, the international system is in a state of instability, and a new major conflict may unfold in Asia.

Separately, he repeated the accusations against the West spread in the Russian information space, claiming the alleged preparation of "biological weapons" against Russia.
