Russia and China have equal relations, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has said. This was his response to a moderator's question at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum about "colonial" relations between the two countries.

"It is even funny for me to talk about this topic," Putin said. In the energy sector, he said, the share of equipment from Russia exceeds that of Chinese suppliers. In addition, Russia is building nuclear power plants in China, the Russian ruler emphasized.

"Of course, we also turn to our reliable partners and friends, including Chinese companies. We exchange information, share technologies and will continue to do so," Putin added.
