Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a statement.

The United States congratulated Armenia’s incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his victory. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that he looks forward to continuing to work with the country’s government.

This was reported by Charter97.org citing Rubio’s post on social media X.

In his post, Rubio noted that the United States supports Prime Minister Pashinyan and Armenia in their pursuit of peace.

In addition, the White House is committed to advancing the goals of the historic Washington Peace Summit, including the implementation of the Trump Roadmap for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).

“We look forward to working together to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the South Caucasus and beyond,” Rubio noted in the post.

What is the “Trump Route”

The “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) is a large-scale transport corridor project in the South Caucasus. Its goal is to connect the main territory of Azerbaijan with its exclave of Nakhchivan, as well as with Turkey through the territory of Armenia. Essentially, this is a new name for the previously known “Zangezur Corridor,” but now under the auspices and management of the United States.

The land remains part of Armenia. Customs and border control are carried out by Armenian authorities in accordance with local laws.

A special company controlled by the U.S. will manage and develop the infrastructure. The United States has been granted special rights to develop this zone for a period of 99 years.

What preceded Rubio’s welcome

As is known, parliamentary elections have concluded in Armenia. Pashinyan’s party beat the opposition by a wide margin.
