The Traffic Police Responded To Complaints About Nighttime Lines For Parking Permits

The agency has issued a strange response to the outrage expressed by Belarusians.

The Traffic Police commented on complaints about long lines for driver's license exams in Pinsk. The agency stated that gathering in person at their offices makes no sense and threatened to take action against those posting about the issue on social media, writes "Zerkalo".

The Traffic Police reported that to obtain a driver’s license and complete administrative procedures at the department’s offices, advance registration is required for both the written and practical exams.

“Forming ‘live’ lines at Traffic Police offices is pointless,” the agency emphasized.

They explained that driver candidates who fail the exam may be allowed to retake it no sooner than ten days later. At the same time, the practical exam is conducted by appointment only. Therefore, the Traffic Police recommend scheduling the next test immediately after a failed attempt, without waiting for the ten-day period to expire.

According to the agency, the positive effect of introducing electronic registration is “unfortunately negated by citizens who deliberately create artificial hype.”

They also hinted at unpleasant consequences for Belarusians who posted complaints about the lines on social media.

“The actions of citizens spreading false information about the activities of law enforcement agencies will be subject to a thorough review,” the statement said.

As a reminder, residents of Pinsk had previously complained about difficulties registering for traffic police exams and wrote that lines of people were forming outside the MREO

For example, one Threads user said that she and her family had been coming to the office early in the morning for several days in a row to get a ticket for her son. According to her, some people were already waiting in line at night, but not everyone managed to get into the exam.
