The Ministry Of Health Has Identified The Source Of The Infection Among Children In Borisov

The Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Ministry of Health has recalled products manufactured by Biomolprom LLC—which, as stated by the ministry, were the source of the infection among children in Borisov and other settlements in the Minsk Region.

“The Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Ministry of Health is concluding its sanitary and epidemiological investigation into the causes of the hospitalization of children in the Minsk Region. To prevent the spread and eliminate the epidemiological risk associated with products of Biomolprom LLC, these products have been withdrawn from circulation," — stated Deputy Minister of Health and Chief State Sanitary Doctor Svetlana Nechay.

As a reminder, on June 2 and 3, 30 children from 11 kindergartens in the city 30 children from 11 of the city’s kindergartens were admitted to hospitals in Borisov. Twenty-seven children were hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis of “acute gastroenteritis” (moderate severity). Three children were treated at home. By June 5, all children had been discharged from the healthcare facility.

The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case regarding the poisoning of minors in Borisov. The Minsk Region Police announced that they are conducting an investigation into reports of child poisoning in the region—13 victims have been identified there.
