"Putin's Promises Are Once Again Going Unfulfilled"

A military analyst revealed how the Kremlin miscalculated regarding Donbas.

Back in 2025, Vladimir Putin, the instigator of the war, told U.S. President Donald Trump that it would take “60 days” to seize the entire Donbas region. But that deadline has long passed, and now a new timeframe is being mentioned—by November. Trump’s lack of an adequate response to such nonsense from Putin will show whose side the American leader is on. This opinion was expressed by military analyst and Reserve Major Alexei Getman on Radio NV.

In particular, the expert commented on reports that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, in a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, expressed confidence in the guaranteed capture of the entire Donetsk region by November 2026.

“If we know what is written in Putin’s letter to Trump, then I am sure that diplomats will remind Trump how, before the meeting in Alaska, Putin said that he needed 60 days to fully capture Donbas. Those 60 days ended on September 2, 2025. Then, ten days later, he said that 50 days were needed for the war to stop,” Getman noted.

At the same time, in his opinion, Trump needs to be reminded that Putin has made such statements about Russia’s capture of Donbas before.

“This has already happened. Now it’s until November. He won’t manage it in 60 days. Now it’s more than 100 days, give me 120 days… It didn’t happen then, it hasn’t happened now. But if Trump doesn’t react to this—that there have already been 60 days, and now another 120 days… What happened? A year ago, it was 60 days. A year has passed, and now it’s over 100 days again. If he doesn’t respond to this the way a sane person should, then we can assume whose side Trump is on. It’ll just be obvious,” Getman believes.
