An Institute In Penza That Manufactures Sensors For Iskander Missiles Was Attacked

Drones struck several large enterprises in Penza, according to monitoring groups.
On the morning of June 1 (explosions rocked the Russian city of Penza). Plumes of smoke rose above the city. Prior to this, a drone attack alert had been issued for the region, according to "Glavred".
Local Governor Oleg Melnichenko reported that in the Penza region, UAV debris damaged power lines.
“Debris from the UAV damaged power lines and fell onto an unfinished building. No one was injured. Emergency response teams are on the scene dealing with the aftermath,” he wrote.
The Telegram channel Exilenova+ reports that a state-owned bearing factory in Penza was struck. A fire broke out there. Photos and videos have appeared online.
Penza was attacked by a UAV
It should be noted that the Penza Bearing Plant (known as GPZ) is a major manufacturer of a wide range of ball bearings and special bearings.
In addition, the OJSC “Mayak” factory in Penza was likely hit, according to Exilenova+. It is one of Russia’s oldest and largest paper mills, founded in 1850. The factory specializes in the production of corrugated paper, cardboard, writing and printing paper, wallpaper, and school notebooks.
Later, analysts examined footage from Penza and reported that the city’s AO “NIIFI” (Scientific Research Institute of Physical Measurements) had been struck.
The company develops gauge and absolute pressure sensors, as well as linear and angular motion sensors for aviation equipment. Its products are used in airplanes, helicopters, and weapons systems, specifically the “Bulava,” “Topol-M,” and “Sineva” ICBMs, as well as the “Iskander” missile systems. It is part of the Roscosmos State Corporation.
It supplies pressure sensors for the engines of the Kh-101 and Kh-59M2/Kh-59M2A cruise missiles, as well as sensors and measurement systems for the Su-34. For the Su-57, it manufactures DAV-096 absolute pressure sensors, SITUOK-01 wheel temperature and cooling indication systems, and SKPSh-01 landing gear parameter monitoring systems.
The company is subject to sanctions imposed by the United States and Ukraine.
