The country obtained most of its fuel from Russia.
Kyrgyzstan has sent a request to Belarus for fuel supplies. The Central Asian country is taking measures to ensure its energy security.
“To maintain a stable supply of fuel, official requests have been sent to the relevant government agencies of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. At the same time, negotiations are underway to diversify supplies and expand international cooperation in this area,” — states a press release from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy.
Kyrgyzstan imports most of its fuel and lubricants. However, its main supplier—Russia—is currently facing problems following attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian oil refineries. In Russia, a fuel shortage has arisen, and gasoline exports from the country are prohibited.
