The Russian Port Of "Kavkaz" Is On Fire

Ukrainian Armed Forces drones attacked a target in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation.

A fire broke out following an attack on the petroleum products transshipment complex and the railroad station at the Port of Kavkaz (Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation). This was reported by the monitoring group “Crimean Wind”, citing satellite imagery.

The petroleum products transshipment complex at the “Kavkaz” seaport handles the transshipment of crude oil and fuel oil, and also serves railcars, tanker trucks, and ships. The terminal has a capacity of about 3 million metric tons per year, and its operations are supported by oil depots, such as the facilities of the company “Yugneftekhimtransit.”

The complex includes a tank farm with a capacity of about 100,000 m³ and railway loading racks where fuel is unloaded from rail tank cars, notes “Krymsky Veter.”

The Port of Kavkaz connects Russia with Crimea via the Kerch ferry crossing. Significant volumes of fuel pass through the terminals, intended both for supply to the peninsula and for export.

Russians used ferries via this port to supply ammunition, weapons, and fuel to the occupied peninsula.

On June 21, Ukrainian drones attacked the port of “Kavkaz”. The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation announced the suspension of ferry service across the Kerch Strait and stated that truck drivers must travel to occupied Crimea via the “land corridor.”
