Migrants Are Once Again Attempting To Cross The Border From Belarus Into Poland In Large Numbers

Dozens of attempts over three days.

Over the past weekend, Polish border guards recorded 37 attempts to cross the border illegally directly from Belarus, according to the Polish Border Guard. There haven’t been this many cases in a few days in this section for quite some time. In recent months, migrants have primarily been trying to enter Poland via Lithuania.

Attempts to cross the Belarusian-Polish border were recorded from July 10 to 12 at the border guard posts in Melnik and Belovezh. There were 18 on Friday, nine on Saturday, and ten on Sunday.

Some of the migrants returned to Belarus. The rest were detained on the Polish side. Among them were nationals of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Shortly before that, on July 7, Polish border guards reported another eight migrants who had illegally crossed the Belarusian-Polish border.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 260 attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border have been recorded in the Podlasie Border Guard District. During the same period in 2025, more than 15,000 attempts were recorded.
