Six settlements have been liberated.
The 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skelya” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine broke through the defenses of the Russian occupiers during an offensive and drove them out of six settlements on the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. This is reported by “Armia Inform”.
According to “Army Inform,” fighters from the “Skelya” unit have recently liberated and cleared the following settlements of Russian occupiers: Ternove, Zaporizhskoye, Novogeorgievka, Vorone, Sichnevoe, and Maliivka. A total of 120 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory has been liberated from the enemy. Ukrainian fighters have broken through the Russian occupiers’ defenses to a depth of up to 25 kilometers.
Dozens of Ukrainian Armed Forces assault groups from the Velikomikhailovka area simultaneously launched an offensive on several fronts at once. Ukrainian fighters were constantly supported by drones and aircraft. The Russian Federation’s “elite” 120th Marine Division suffered significant losses.
Russian occupiers attempted to create a so-called “buffer zone” in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a concept frequently mentioned by dictator Vladimir Putin. To this end, in late 2025 and early 2026, the enemy launched an offensive at the junction of the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Initially, the occupiers managed to capture several settlements along this section of the front. But in February, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a counteroffensive, driving the Russian occupiers back. In early summer, operations were conducted to clear the settlements at the junction of the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions of enemy forces.
